230 Meters Breakwater Has Been Installed in Untung Jawa Island

Seribu Islands Water Resources Sub-dept. said breakwater installment in north side of Untung Jawa Island that has been done from May, now reaches around 230 meters long.

From 600 meters, it has been done to 230 meters. Maybe after Eid, it can be finished

"From 600 meters, it has been done to 230 meters. Maybe after Eid, it can be finished," said Mustajab, Head Dept. of Seribu Islands Water Resources, Tuesday (6/13).

According to him, breakwater in the north side of the land will protect mangrove forest. It also can hold sand from coming back to the sea. Because waves in the island are greater than other island.

Breakwater on Lancang Island Finally Repaired

He continued, 11,000 tetrapods sea defenses have been installed to build 600 meters breakwater.

"Every 100 meters of breakwater installed, we open the path around 10 meters thus wave still can bring sa nd into the coast." he closed.
